Christmas/Winter Solstice Beach Clean

19 Dec 2021

Chapman’s is a natural horseshoe shaped cove facing the south west. This unfortunately means it catches many plastics coming in on the south westerly storms and currents, and is a hotspot for marine debris of all shapes and sizes. It’ll be all hands on deck to grab as much as we can. Many hands make light work so lets get down there and give it a good clean up!

Afterwards we’ll head to the Square and Compass pub in Worth Matravers, where we can buy a pint and a pasty to celebrate a job well done!

This is open to all ages and also dogs.

Please be aware that the walk to and from Chapman’s includes steep and slippery steps and paths and takes about 20 minutes, a definite idea to wear decent shoes and sensible clothing, maybe bring a snack and hot drink too.

Please also be aware that the cliffs are very unstable so we do not venture too close to them, hence why we will be cleaning at low tide.

Tickets are free and via Eventbrite here:
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/christmas-beach-clean-tickets-210729637017

We will be meeting at Renscombe Car Park at 10.30am (location shown on Eventbrite).

See you there!
...

Note from Taurva ~ If you fancy wearing anything that lifts you into the Christmas/Yule/Solstice spirit, go for it! As long as you take care that nothing falls in to the sea.

See you there merry humans!
